USPS “American Gardens” Stamps

In collaboration with the American Public Gardens Association, the United States Postal Service has just released a set of twenty “American Gardens” postage stamps perfectly timed to coincide with National Public Gardens Week. What a stunningly spectacular way to feature some of the world-class gardens that can be found all across America!

I was so excited to see some of my favorite gardens among the 10 chosen photographs, including a hometown staple Dumbarton Oaks (District of Columbia), a California classic The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens, as well as newer discoveries such as Norfolk Botanical Garden (Virginia), and the Chicago Botanic Garden. The rest of the stamps serve as a handy list of gardens that I cannot wait to visit and review in the future!

The 10 photographs taken between 1996 and 2014 by Allen Rokach with art direction and design by Ethel Kessler. The other gardens include Biltmore Estate Gardens (North Carolina); Brooklyn Botanic Garden (New York); Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (Maine); Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park (Florida); Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens (Ohio); and Winterthur Garden (Delaware).

The stamps can be purchased here:usps.com/americangardens. I ordered two sets myself!
