Nine of the Best Southern California Botanical Gardens to Visit

A list of nine gardens in Southern California worth visiting with a full review of each garden with photos.

Here is my selection of must-see gardens in Southern California, from beautiful botanic gardens to public parks and arboretums filled with flowers. Beginning in the Los Angeles area, Virginia Robinson Gardens offers a glimpse into old-school Beverly Hills botanical luxury. The nearby Greystone Mansion & Gardens offers classy, formal gardens with amazing city views  and completely free admission. Aside from a $10-15 parking fee, The Getty Center is also free and offers art museums, stunning architecture, and colorful, artistic gardens with scenic views.

Pasadena is a garden paradise, offering some of the best gardens in the area like the Huntington Library & Gardens, Descanso Gardensand the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. 

Further north, Santa Barbara is home to the renown legendary Lotusland a quirky garden masterpiece on a grand scale. San Diego is home to the notable gardens and architecture of the famous Balboa Park.
