5 Gardens to Visit Right Now

5 Gardens to Visit Right Now is a list of five gardens in North America worth visiting specially curated by a website featuring garden reviews.

So far I have reviewed gardens in 11 states (plus DC) within the United States, but there are so many more botanical gardens, conservatories, and arboretums I am dying to visit! Here is a list of five gardens I would love to visit right now, in no particular order.

1. Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden, Avalon, California
Ever since I moved to Los Angeles, I have been eager to visit Santa Catalina Island. When I heard that there is a cactus-centric botanic garden with a large tower memorializing the Wrigley of chewing gum fame I was even more intrigued and closer to considering splurging on the ferry ride over. More info here.

2. Butchart Gardens, Brentwood Bay, British Columbia
The Butchart Gardens, another garden on an island, has been on my must-visit list for a while now based on personal recommendations and pictures from garden books and Instagram. Numerous themed sections surround the famed sunken garden, a former limestone quarry in which the elaborate gardens began. Visit here!

3. Chanticleer Garden, Wayne, Pennsylvania
Even the name of this garden sounds impressive and I have definitely heard of this notable Pennsylvania garden. Having already seen some of the other exquisite gardens in the state, I am kicking myself for not seeing this garden sooner. The Ruin Garden, inhabiting the foundation and remaining walls of a stone house, sounds like a highlight. Read more here.

4. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Coral Gables, Florida
I’m always looking for another garden to visit while I am in Florida and Fairchild has been on my radar for a while. Visiting family in Florida my whole life has given me a strong affinity for the landscape there. Not only does Fairchild have a Palmetum but there is also a sunken garden and the grand Allée and Overlook vista that the place is known for. Plan your visit here.

5. Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis, Missouri
Any list of the most beautiful gardens in the U.S. always includes this garden among its ranking, and I am eager to experience it for myself! A giant dome of a greenhouse called the Climatron is the iconic symbol of this garden, but I would love to see the hedge maze and pincushion garden in the Victorian District or the Japanese Garden all abloom with cherry blossoms or azaleas. More info here.

These are just a few of the hundreds of gardens I’m yearning to visit in the US and all over the world. Stay tuned for more gardens from my must-visit list, or check out my recent list spotlighting my favorite gardens in Southern California.
